I’ve never wanted a summer to end more quickly in my entire existence.
Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. Yes, I realize living in Florida can make it very difficult to get into the fall spirit. Especially when it remains 90 degrees everyday until about mid October. Even then it might drop down to 80 degrees.. When you live here your whole life you somehow feel the seasons change, even though the leaves stay the same color all year-long.
So here are some of the things that help get me in the fall spirit!
Candles: There’s something about candle scents that really get me into the spirit. Scents have always been a comforting thing to me. When I smell certain scents, I think of certain things. So whenever fall and winter roll around I always stock up on my favorite candles from Bath & Body Works. Some of my favorites are Sweater Weather, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Leaves, and Harvest Gatherings.
Baking & cooking in the Crock-Pot: Theres nothing I love more than smelling a yummy soup or chili that’s been cooking away all day in the crock pot. I wish I could make soups all year-long, but there’s just something weird about eating hot soup in 90 degree weather. I also love to bake and for whatever reason Fall always seems to put me in the baking mood. Usually around this time of year my Pinterest is flooded with recipes.
Dark nail polish: Unlike most beauty bloggers out there, dark lips aren’t my thing. I wish I could pull the look off (I envy those you that can) but I just end up looking like a clown. I do however, love me some dark nails! Dark blue, green, grey, red, maroon, and black have my name written ALL over it.
Scarves: Down here in Florida, we wear these more for fashion purposes instead of the intended purpose of keeping us warm. Either way, they’re cute and a must have in any persons fall wardrobe.
Sweatpants: Confession.. I most definitely wear these year round. I don’t care if I have to crank my a/c to 70 degrees, I’m wearin the damn sweat pants! Fall just makes me feel less guilty about wearing them non stop. Theres nothing better to me than being curled up in a blanket on the couch with the windows open (when its cool enough) and just hanging out in my comfy pants.
Apple Cider: Although most of these picks are considered to be pretty “basic”. I think I’m one of the rare breeds out there that doesn’t live and breathe for the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I think these are way over hyped about, but who am I to judge… I do however love me some apple cider. I prefer to drink it cold and I usually buy it by the gallon.
Boots: Can we say BEST part of fall?! Once again, here in the south we wear these more for fashion purposes then anything. In the past I’ve bought the riding style boots, but just recently bought my first pair of booties. I couldn’t decide if I should buy these or not, but for the price I had to take the plunge. So excited to wear them!
What are you favorite things about fall? Let me know!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
